Rajani, Alas I have nothing that I feel comfortable to recommend or endorse. The most of the docs i came across were estimates and speculations. Just recently one of my PMs went through comparison of actual the cost on very similar scope projects one done in house and one by tier 2 Indian outsourcing company. The project cost turned out to be very close, however when you take in consideration saving we got from no hiring cost and termination of the agreement India team provided ~25% savings. The quality of code was at par with the code produced by local resources. as you can see that is also not very precise - it's almost impossible to get it to "apples to apples" comparison.
Hi,

Do you have any data - in terms of a report or research published, which compares the cost of development in India and the U.S.

The following example is something from 2005, am looking at something from 2008 or 2009. Can you help?

"According to a report in Wall Street Journal in 2005, GE stated that the development cost in the US would be around 80-100% more as compared to India"

Great list of resources. I have bookmarked it as it is a very handy list. There are many sites that I have often looked for before so it's great to have them all in the one area. Keep up the great work!
