I'm working on a way to incorporate very personalized video that can be embedded onto freelancers' personal websites, shared on Facebook / Twitter, e-mailed to friends and potential clients, etc - a way to promote a freelancer's portfolio and personal brand.

If this is something that anyone here might find useful, why don't you check it out at: http://seemehearme.motionthink.com and let us know what you think?

It would be great to have more off-the-shelf tools for us freelancers to use to get more consistent work, and we hope we can assist in that effort. :)

And maybe the typical freelancer.com I'm currently building an outsourcing directory where I not only focus on showing the typical freelancer sites but also pay-as-you-go companies that are specialized in creating banners or newsletter templates for ex. Feedback would be greatly appreciated, especially from a long time "outsourcer" like you.

If the no hire agreement simply states:

During the term of this Operating Agreement, no Member may hire, contract, or otherwise engage, directly or indirectly, a current or former employee of ABC LLC to work in any business or activity in competition with the Business of ABC LLC. A member may hire a former employee of ABC LLC in any business, if such former employee has not been employed by ABC LLC for more than one year.

In the last sentence, does what is considered hiring? And what is not?

Would the member be allowed to contract with a former emloyee or accept probono work?

Thanks Stan. As far as starting with outsourcing oDesk could be a good place to start could be not so good one. It's a perfect place for micro sourcing, data entry tasks, SEO, etc. If you have a large project or one with high importance / risk / etc. you may need to be looking for a larger suppliers who are not so common at oDesk. In any case, best of luck! nick

My company is just getting started with outsourcing and we were recommended to check out oDesk. I believe I found a recommendation there to check out your info (sometimes you just don't know where you found out about something online!) - anyway, I'm glad I got here.

I've learned the hard way that the best way to be responsible for something and to have a good sense of control over it is to be as knowledgeable as possible about it. Your site and your eBook (vol 1) appear to be loaded with sensible, practical info.

I realize with outsourcing, at least from the employer's prospective, it still comes down to choosing someone who is trustworthy and competent. I'd even err some on 'competent' to have 'fully trustworthy' as you can always improve someone's competence but a loss of trust...well, you know what I mean.

Thank you for putting this blog here, Nick!

Thanks Anton, it's always a pleasure to hear from readers, fuels my energy and gives plenty of ideas. I can imagine running an outsourcing company in Belarus is tough considering how much competition you have from 800-lb gorillas and scarcity of resources. At the same time i am sure there are tons of opportunities in the European and US market... Best of luck, Nick
